This is one of my favorite patterns. It can be used with transitioning yarn for an interesting look. Why not use it for a temperature blanket? I have seen it done in multiple ways. Since each ellipse requires two rows (to make a circle) you can have a very interesting look if you do half a circle for one day and the other half for another. May take some math and preplanning to work it out. Here is the pattern link, and below is an example of one done for temperatures.

Here is a temperature project using this pattern by Kathy Shiver. Each ellipse shape contains the high and low for the day – three ellipses per day.  Now, in doing that, you have to know ahead of time for the row, because you will be working back and forth and will need to match up the highs and lows for the right days.
